Inaugurated in 1977, this takes up to 150 thousand people and 2
thousand vehicles may park here. Has two circuits measuring 5,030
meters and 3 thousand meters and a cart track. It is temporarily
closed to make adjustments on its track to the CART racing this
year.
Cycling
As
a leisure option, there is nothing better than going for a bike
ride on the cycle paths along the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema,
Leblon, São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca. There is also a
path around the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
For
serious cyclists, there is the route up to Corcovado and then along
the Paineiras path to Alto da Boa Vista.
On
weekends, there are bicycles and cycling equipment for hire on Rodrigo
de Freitas Lagoon, in Parque dos Patins and in front of Corte do
Cantagalo.
